Hi! I got into mapping through various interests in urban forestry, housing inequality, government surveillance, and the criminal justice system. It turns out that so many kinds of fascinating public open data are map and GIS related!
Along with several of the other MapRVA folks, I attended State of the Map US 2023 here in Richmond, but it took over a year for me to run across this group and start contributing to OSM more often.
For my day job I’m a data analyst/engineer/scientist, but I don’t actually do very much GIS professionally! I’m just here for the fun of it.
